On her own and imbittered by life, Viktoria gave up and resigned herself to the fate of many Penumbran women on their own in the Huema lands. Self-inflicting her own punishment for in her view, failing her maerta, submitted herself to the dreg's life and became a courtesan. This did not diminish her combative nature, which became vindictive, this earning her a place among those hardened by life and enemies all the same.

This would bring her closer to the deamons at her heels, not having forgotten since a child. There seemed no way to escape them and yet to allow such a thing would be to truly fail her mother. Her life would become a constant conflict of nihilism with moments daring to hope with those that come to rely on her, show a form of kindness to and from, and kin that would seek her out.
