His prosperous reign for the last two hundred years is interrupted when a spy infiltrates Lithavania and steals the secrets of the Penumbra's magik. He would inherit his father's secrets and the promised omen would fall upon his heir. Not only Betamoth is a concern, but those of his court that would come to fear Manalodia.

Rondomel was passed down the knowledge of his father in his pact with a sentient force calling itself an ehmatta. It bestowed Calamus the strength he needed to overcome his people's enemies, as well as gifted with the secrets of the spirit realm. With this came the knowledge of magik that solidified the Altea's place in Catheel.

The one known cost of this was that one of his bloodline would be expected for them, to be dedicated. Whether the message or his father left this area vague, Rondomel was unsure. Nothing had come of himself, but with the birth of his son, he immediately understood.
