Some look Dev and Art direction from a character we created earlier this year. Designed by myself and Dan Baker . I preferred some of the the designs that Dan did in the early exploration. However as the client wanted the design to be more relatable to actual Assyrian artifacts we pulled back some of the proportions, weapon and wings. Totally understood the clients feedback, as a factual broadcaster they had to keep within a range of artistic interpretation. Always important to respect the clients needs, but in the early exploration stage this is were you get to see how far you can push these boundaries.
I did the block out to define proportions and final armour volumes. Final Model/textures by Blacklab-studio , rigged by Duncan Rudd. Really happy with how he ended up. I wanted a Ray Harryhausen Talos vibe to this character. Mace modelled by @gelatovfx . was a big team effort on the overall show.
