With the loss of two children to the schemes of Vladmir Blair and his cult, Costache has been backing Engel's public opposition to the Olde Lords that support Kolonia's new direction. The restraint and more levelheadedness has given way to desiring revenge as much as his wife with Cachusa and Miriam missing and/or presumed lost after years. With Ilinca locking herself away most days, Costache decided to take a direct role in aiding Lumas Interlo, his best means of discovering Bal Hora's influence and search himself Cachusa's last whereabouts.

He has noticed Vetrise's distance in such times in their last meetings and has raised certain suspicions unlike those experienced with the loss of Varen.
